変速スピードはデュアルクラッチを超えた
ゼネラルモーターズは2017年モデルのシボレー・カマロZL1に、量産車としては世界初となる10速ATを搭載したことを発表した。
シボレーが実施したテストによれば、この新しい10速ATはトルクコンバータ式のオートマチック・トランスミッションではあるが、その変速スピードはポルシェのデュアルクラッチ・トランスミッションPDKより速く、1-2速で36%、2-3速で27%、3-4速で26％上回ったという。
また、従来搭載されていた8速ATとさほど変わらないサイズという、パッケージング効率にも優れているのも特徴だ。
この10速ATは今後、2018年までにGMの後輪駆動車に順次搭載されていく予定とのこと。日本導入にも期待しよう。
